Studies on ¥â-glucuronidase Activity in Various Tissues of Rats using Anthelmintic Drugs of Clonorchiasis

Abstract
The author has investigated on ¥â-glucuronidase activity in various tissues such as liver, kidney, spleen, lung and intestine of rat using anthelmintic drugs of clonorchiasis.
The results obtained were summarized as followings ;
1. In the group giving niclofolan, ¥â-glucuronidase activity was the maximum at 9th hour in all experimental groups except spleen which showed the maximum with 6.472mU/g at 18th hour.
2. In the group giving praziquantel, ¥â-glucuronidase activity was the maximum at 9th hour in the liver 6.280 mU/g, spleen 7.457mU/g and lung 1.865mU/g. Activity of this enzyme in the kidney and intestine was the maximum at 12th and 18th hour
with
1.509mU/g and 1.793mU/g respectively and then decreased by the passage of the time gradually.
3. In the group giving bithionol, ¥â-glucuronidase activity was the maximum at 9th hour in the liver 6.688mU/g spleen 7.688mU/g and lung 2.219mU/g. The others, activity of this enzyme in the kidney and intestine was the maximum at 6th and 12th
hour
with 1.293 and 1.793mU/g respectively and then also decreased gradually from hour to hour.
4. ¥â-glucuronidase activity in all organs of experimental rats was more increased in the medication groups with niclofolan, praziquantel and bithionol than control grups.
5. ¥â-glucuronidase activity was increased by the following order : niclofolan ¡´praziquantel¡´bithionol. On the basis of these results, it was suggested that ¥â-glucuronidase activity was affected by the sort of anthelmintic drugs, time after
medication and organs.
